Many of Ballarat’s government primary and secondary schools accept student enrolments based on a zoning system. This means that boundaries are drawn around the area surrounding the school and students within those boundaries are automatically accepted into the school.
Due to a range of factors such as rapid population growth, Phoenix P-12 Community College is required to manage their enrolments carefully ensuring the Department of Education and Training’s Placement Policy is followed which sets out the priority order of placement. It should be noted that we may not be in a position to enrol all students who apply.
Your child is guaranteed a place at their designated neighbourhood school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address. Applications to schools other than your designated neighbourhood school are considered subject to the school having available spaces, as per the Priority Order of Placement under the Department’s Placement Policy.
