On Thursday 1st March, we took 43 kids down to the Eureka pool to compete against the other Ballarat schools and attempt to qualify for Region finals. Our students were legends – they raced hard, supported one another and filled empty events in order to gain points. Emily Lizzul and Amy Devereaux were absolute super stars managing our students and filling roles and all schools commented on how helpful and polite our students were all day. Doesn’t that make you proud?
We walked away with an abundance of ribbons, two age groups champions in Elizabeth Whitten-Bale and Riley Caldow and a relay team first to qualify for the next level. An inspired bunch of students lead by Riley Caldow and Kyle Begbie who have organised and run swim training for 5 weeks with staff support as an after school program. Can you tell I’m excited?
