Phoenix P-12 Community College offers rowing to all students from Year 8 to Year 12. It is an extra-curricular activity and training occurs outside of the normal school hours.

Rowing at Phoenix is a team sport requiring training and development of rowing technique. Students undertake strength training, technique refinement and fitness activities. This contributes to interpersonal skill development, resilience, and determination. Students will be challenged to achieve their personal best in all areas of training.
The aim of the rowing program at Phoenix is to provide an enjoyable, team orientated rowing program.

  • Life Values – commitment, teamwork, discipline and persistence.
  • Healthy Lifestyles – lifelong participation in sport.

Rowing Structure

Term 3: Rowers commence training on land.

Term 4: Water-based training begins held at the Wendouree Ballarat Rowing Club.

Term 1: During the January holidays, rowers attend a Camp with an intensive few days of training in preparation for the racing season.

Rowing is an important team sport which requires dedication and commitment, and Phoenix is pleased to offer this opportunity to our students.
