We have been busy very busy during our time here in Cost Rica. We saw turtle hatchlings, spent a few hours playing games with the local school kids (including how to kick a football), had a surprise birthday cake at the school and even saw some monkeys. We went on morning patrol at the beach and saved some baby turtles that didn’t make it out of their nest! We got to hold them and watch them go to sea. It was so heart-warming to watch.
We went to the local school on the same day and played Australian games with the little kids, hit a piñata, ate some cake and gave them gifts! They were so cute. We hope they enjoy the new sign we made for them and the freshly painted bus stop. We also got to visit an amazing waterfall, see monkeys and incredible views of the ocean and mountains. We then finished our community project and said our goodbyes to Alba and Federico (our amazing guides). We will miss their guidance and friendliness as well as the salsa dance lessons they gave us! It was a lot of fun.
We are currently in San Jose preparing our bags for the trek tomorrow. Everyone got a pretty snazzy sleep in and we got to experience the national museum and a really good market where we bought a lot of stuff!
